SMALL PERSIAN TAMBUR

Small persian tambûr (tanbur).
Jagged body made in a single piece of mulberry wood.
Cedar table, three soundholes in shape of star, ebony and ivory tailpiece.
Mulberry wood neck, fingerboard made of a wood close to rosewood, 14 gut frets, ivory nut, 4 ebony pegs in T shape.

Body depth : 103 mm


This tambûr was the Rita STROHL-LA VILLETTTE's former(old) collection.
RIta STROHL  (Lorient   1865 - Gaude  1941) was a french pianist and composer of symphonic and lyricworks filled with mysticism and  symbolism.

She approached, among others, an Indian cycle of compositions of influence and constitute a collection of indo-persian musical instruments.
