Violin 'vieux Mirecourt' labelled LAGARDE-THOMMASSIN, made in Mirecourt (France) ca. 1830.
Two piece table of spruce of narrow grain.
One piece back of maple of medium to braod curl.
Neck and ribs of similar wood.
The table and the back are surrounded with double purfling, the first traditional (black/white/black) the second composed with mother of pearl and ebony segment.
Varnish of an orange-yellow colour.
