Slide duct flute, Swanee whistle, London (England) circa 1930.
The cylindrical body of ebonite without fingerhole, nickel-silver mount.
The slide whistle has an extended length of tubing containing a plunger that allows the performer to shorter or lengther the resonating length of the tube, thus changing the pitch of the tone produced.
Also known as Jazzoflute.
Patented in 1924.
