Sudrophone baryton by François SUDRE made in  Paris (France) circa 1892.
Brass conical bore, three Perinet valves and on bell a device unique to sudrophone   a silk menbrane adjustable with a screw to add a buzzing effect.

This instrument belongs to a family  of valved instruments from soprano to contrabass, invented by François SUDRE ( 1844 - 1912 ) and patented in 1892 ( # 219518).
Acoustically these resemble the saxhorns.
