Rare multi-headed model.
Hollow wooden body covered with animal skin as a harmonic table; pierced with ten little circular sounholes.
The rest of the body of pyramidal shape, chased with little scares on both sides, it is topped by a carved head and two other heads emerge from either sides of the neck.
The latter of arched shape holds five tuning pegs and also terminates by a carved head.
The faces exhibit the characteristics of the Mangbetu style from the Uele region: well-defined features, with scarification on the forehead and beneath closed eyes, exposed necks, prominent ears, and tall headdresses featuring vertical and horizontal striations that end in a flared section.
